Gun Machine

Gun Machine is the latest novel by comics mastermind Warren Ellis, his second following the incredible Crooked Little Vein. It’s also a twisted take on the noir genre with a smart but worn down NYC detective taking on a lot of cases after he discovers a Pearl Street apartment completely covered in guns arranged in various patterns.  He’s got to figure out who this mysterious killer who has been operating undetected for a very, very long time is and also possibly get his life together.

The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises is the third and final installment in director Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.  It takes place 8 years after the events of The Dark Knight, in a Gotham where Batman’s name is mud after he took the blame for Harvey Dent’s actions, allowing the public to believe in the good things Dent stood for.  Perhaps one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, The Dark Knight Rises features Catwoman (Hathaway; Love & Other Drugs) joining with Batman and taking on legendary Batman villain Bain (Hardy; Inception). But before he can do any of this, he must start from scratch and rebuild himself.

NYC 22

NYC 22 is about a group of rookie cops of many backgrounds foot patrolling in NYC’s 22nd precinct in upper Manhattan.  They quickly discover the ups and downs of the job and the neighborhood.

Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory

Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory is the final film in a trilogy that has gone on for almost 20 years by Bruce Sinofsky and Joe Berlinger. Paradise Lost – The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills and Paradise Lost 2 – Revelations both previously took us into the case of the West Memphis 3, three teenagers (at the time) who were charged and convicted of murdering 3 small boys in a horrific manner and the many miscarriages of justice that occurred during the case.  This 3rd film brings us back to West Memphis, Arkansas 10 years after the last one and updates us on things some of the greatest law enforcement minds in the world have discovered about the case.

Alcatraz

Alcatraz is a mysterious show that proposes the truth behind the closing of Alcatraz prison is that in 1963 all the prisoners and guards just vanished one night.  Now in modern day San Francisco these people are re-appearing just as mysteriously, not having aged a day.  Detective Rebecca Madsen (Jones; Sons of Anarchy) and Alcatraz expert Diego Soto (Garcia; LOST) stumble upon the happenings and a secret task force run by the equally mysterious Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill; Jurassic Park) and are enlisted to help capture some of the worst criminals of their day.  The story of the events on 1960′s Alcatraz are told alongside the modern day story as well.

The Dispatcher

The Dispatcher is about a police dispatcher who’s young daughter is abducted from her bedroom while she sleeps.  Many years later after being presumed dead, while on shift he gets a call from a girl claiming to be her.  He sets off on a new investigation to find her.

4.3.2.1.

4.3.2.1. is the story of 4 teenage girls in London who we follow through 3 days of their life as they each have separate adventures.  Joanne (Roberts; It’s Kind of a Funny Story) is stuck working at a convenience store, Shannon’s (Lovibond) mom leaves her family, Kerrys (Warren-Markla) is trying to have a romantic weekend with her girlfriend, and Cassandra (Egerton; St. Trinians) heads to New York to meet her online boyfriend.  In the background of all their stories a diamond heist has gone down and they’re accidentally involved.

Breakout Kings

Breakout Kings is about a special task force made up of 3 convicted criminals who have previously broken out of prison and have various skills.  There’s the genius (Simpson; It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), the thief (Goodwin; Leatherheads), and the girl who grew up with a bounty hunter for a father (Swan; Tron: Legacy).  They’re being controlled by 2 cops who usually disagree (Alonso & Lombardozzi).  The deal is the cons each get a month off their sentence for every successful escapee they catch.  But if they try to run themselves they get sent to a maximum security prison and get 20 years added to their sentences.

The Chicago Code

The Chicago Code is a new crime drama from Fox about corruption in Chicago.  The show centers around police Superintendent Teresa Colvin (Beals) who starts up a corruption task force after seeing what it does to people like her father.  In this task force is detective Jarek Wysocki (Clarke), a sort of bad boy who plays by his own rules type, who also happens to be Colvin’s old partner.  Also along for the ride is his new partner, Caleb Evers (Lauria) who has a knack for the job that can’t be taught.  They’re fighting against the super corrupt alderman played by Delroy Lindo.
