Twice Bitten is the third book in author Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires series. This 3rd book picks up right after Friday Night Bites with Merit heading off to a mysterious meeting.  From there the story moves on to find Merit requested to serve as security for a meeting of shape shifters.  Of course this doesn’t go so smoothly and Merit and her boss Ethan are soon up to finding and stopping a possible assassination attempt.

I’ll keep this review short.  If you’ve read the other 2 books in the series then you know you’ll really enjoy this one.  There’s a ton of great stuff like Ethan & Merit’s relationship progression, but the things I liked most were Merit’s interactions with the females in her life, particularly best human friend and witch Mallory and her vampire best friend as well as she explores more of life inside Cadogan house.

If you didn’t read the previous two, you won’t be totally lost.  There’s a good amount of recap, but once again not too much to the point where it gets annoying.  It of course helps if you’re up on the previous events though.   This one has a lot more callback to Friday Night Bites than Friday Night Bites had with Some Girls Bite.

I really like how Neill keeps the tone light even through the more serious scenes and overall the book is highly entertaining.  The series gets its first really big action set piece towards the end of this one, although it actually has more action throughout in general as well, but it doesn’t ever lose it’s fun tone.

Overall I completely recommend this one.
