I-See-You.com is a comedy about a teenager (Mathew Botuchis) who decides to get revenge on his sister (Baelyn Neff) by ordering up some spy cams and putting a live feed of her room on the internet.  So strangers can see her naked, etc.  He does this with the help of his friend Randi (Shiri Appleby).  The site becomes very popular and he winds up adding video of the whole family’s adventures to the site.  When they discover this his in debt father (Beau Bridges) and former actor mother (Rosanna Arquette) decide to keep it going and fake the action turning themselves into a reality show. So I’ll be honest I really watched this one night randomly on Netflix’s Instant Watch (it’s no longer there so don’t bother checking) because it had Shiri Appleby in it.  I’ve admitted by love for Shiri before, so this should be no surprise to regular readers.  This is obviously a low budget movie and it seems a lot of the budget went towards things like getting “names” like Beau Bridges and Rosanna Arquette on board.  It’s low budget really shows.  Also for a movie that was made in 2006, the technology in it seems much older.  It’s like an internet time machine.

For a comedy I didn’t really find myself laughing or even smiling much, but there were a couple of good scenes.  It wasn’t that bad.  It certainly wasn’t terrible and it held my interest for its entire running time.  Director/co-Writer Eric Steven Stahl (the other co-writer is Sean McLain) seems to have wanted to make a point about how money can corrupt and how bad so called reality programing is, but that gets lost in the craziness.

It should go without saying but this movie is horribly titled.  I mean did they really need to put “.com” in the title?  Also for all the “names” they were phoning in their performances and all the performances are pretty lackluster.  I did enjoy Shiri Appleby’s perfomance though, mostly cause she was kinda punked up and that was cute.  Also Neff is pretty easy on the eyes.

Overall this is a decent film to watch on a boring night to kill some time.  You can buy the dvd through Amazon:
