The Real World D. C. – Episode 6 Recap
The next morning Ashley is at a super posh hotel. Andrew says she went to the hotel because this is all a game and she wants the sympathy. Ashley arrives home and wakes up Callie to talk more about this made up situation.
Why are you disturbing sweet Callie’s sleep? Half asleep Callie really just sits there and thinks about how much she wants to go back to bed. Ashley and Andrew are now not speaking to each other.
Later Callie gets up for real and freaks because she has to be on the train in 5 minutes and she just woke up and never did finish that resume. She says she should have just gone to sleep and not bothered with Ashley’s bullshit (but she says it much nicer).
Emily offers to look at the resume while Callie gets ready and see if she can help.
Oh by the way this is actually something Callie wrote:
She actually saved that. She should win a resume writing award. Anyway it’s a montage of her getting ready and running to the train and finally arriving for her interview.
She’s only a couple of minutes late and no one even brings it up. But it’s interview time. The editor tells her a little about the paper and asks her some stuff about photography. He doesn’t even give a shit about the resume apparently. He has reservations because all of her stuff is posed and not live stuff, which is what she’d be shooting for the paper. The absolute best part of this interview is when she is asked what she knows about LGBT issues. She doesn’t even know what LGBT means. She says she’s “not up on her acronyms”. He gives her a trial assignment to see how she does. I guarantee if she was not being followed by cameras there’d be no way she got this.
That night Erika asks Andrew to tell her what happened because she was lame and slept through the whole thing. Also she’s only wearing a towel.
This is never mentioned.
Callie gets ready for her assignment which is to cover the 5th anniversary of a gay bar. Way to throw her a tough one.
Callie, Erika, and Mike all go together. I actually really like the scene in the gay bar because it shows how Callie is still young and doesn’t know what to do yet but she’s trying. Her uncomfortableness with the camera and just shooting is really apparent. Anyway she has fun and takes lots of pictures.
Also if this were a straight bar Callie and Erika would have dudes all over them. They look very pretty.
They are watching like every dude hit on Mike, who winds up picking one up and taking him home.
They make out and the guy sleeps over but nothing happens apparently.
Callie has to deliver her shots to the Blade. They like the pictures (which are nothing special) and they offer her the gig. Never saw that one coming a mile away.
Back at the house Ashley is having problems being mad at Andrew because he puts a strainer on his head and is goofing around so she’s laughing.
Ashley talks to Josh and actually admits she’s acting stupid. She says she was overreacting and being dramatic. Yes!
I just need to chill.
I couldn’t have said it any better.
Mike receives an e-mail from Tanner saying that he loves him and is constantly thinking of him which scares Mike. He says he doesn’t want to just go home and get married. He’s really trying to figure things out. Also it sort of looks like Emily is headed to or coming from some sort of political event. But there is no mention of this. Erika is also a part of this conversation and she has a scary raspy man voice and looks like a librarian.
What happened to sexy towel Erika? Anyway Mike decides he’s going to be open and explore because that’s the only way he’s going to learn.
Ashley crawls into Andrews bed that night and sorta ends the feud. She’s still all like “I don’t know anything about you”. Andrew confesses that:
The problem with these people is that they wear their life struggles on their sleeves as if that defines them as a person. But if you’ve been truly hurt you don’t talk about that shit.
And that’s all for this week. Once again sorry for the delay. I’m going to watch this current week’s episode right now and will hopefully have that recap up much sooner. Speaking of…
Next On: Mike has trouble choosing between boys and girls and Ashley throws another fit and Erika says she’s going home.

what kind of camera is callie using in these episodes?
