Men of a Certain Age – TV Review

menofacertainage

Men of a Certain Age is a new TNT show about 3 male friends who are getting up in age.  One is a sort of slacker (Bakula) wannabe actor, one owns a party supply store (Romano), and one works at his father’s car dealership (Braugher).  So there’s the first problem right there.  You can’t really peg a solid plot on this show.  There’s 3 rather generic characters in generic roles.  Also the show can’t decide if it wants to be a comedy or a drama and instead does neither.  Also the writing is just cringeworthy.  I checked this out mainly due to my obsession to watch everything I can and I love Quantum Leap and Braugher can do no wrong (even in this part where he is hideously confined to mediocrity he shines far above the likes of Ray Romano, who I do not and have never loved).  But I have to recommend skipping this.  True it hasn’t gotten the 3 episode run yet but I don’t think I can even make it that far.

Men of a Certain Age premieres December 7th on TNT.

Hi. I was actually thinking about watching this myself but missed it. I'm a Bakula fan so I guess I'll check it out next week (if another episode actually airs). Thanks for your insight.
