Today’s recommendation is for not one but 2 songs off of Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer” album. I’d actually recommend the entire album as it’s great, but these two songs are special stand outs.

The Fixer

Above is the awesomely odd video for The Fixer directed by Cameron Crowe. The song is a powerhouse straightforward rock tune that shows the band’s punk influences well while maintaining that emotional vibe that Pearl Jam is so great at. Matt Cameron on drums is a powerhouse and this is his song. It’s so simple but so right.

This song is similar to The Fixer in many ways. It too shows off the punk roots of the band, it also showcases Matt Cameron on drums, and it’s lyrics are incredibly simple. It’s just a great song to rock out to and scream along to. Try doing it, you’ll feel better about the whole world. Just turn the volume up as loud as you can and enjoy.
